In 2015, we packed about 12,000 Girl Scout cookie boxes at our 'Cookie' packing party.
Including the toiletries, food items, and other care package items packed in our 'Cookie' boxes, our USPS mailing costs were over $10,000 for that one 2015 packing party.
As the USPS has significantly raised postal rates in 2016, we anticipate our 2016 'Cookie' packing party will cost us about $14,000 in mailing costs. We will ship the goods to U.S. Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines in Afghanistan, Iraq, Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and many countries around the world. The United States has well over 200,000 troops deployed overseas. We support the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard.
If you are able to assist with a donation to help us ship these care packages, we would be most grateful. While the Girl Scouts generously donate the cookies, our all-volunteer nonprofit must pay to ship the care packages overseas.
