Whew, what a week this has been!! After sending out over 50 Easter care packages to the soldiers, we received some wonderful donations. A big thank you to the Boston University Medical Group for their generous funds donation. This will allow us to send over 100 lbs. of coffee that was donated by the area Starbucks stores in Bellevue, Washington, and some of the 270 cases of Girl Scout cookies donated by the Dallas/Ft. Worth area Girl Scout troops, to Iraq and Afghanistan in the near future. We were told we have access to more cookies, but will await shipping funds before acquiring the cookies. Since postage remains our biggest challenge, any funds received are mostly used in this manner.
Coffee and Girl Scout cookies are two of the more requested items by the soldiers. There is something about eating a Girl Scout cookie, while drinking a hot cup of Starbucks coffee, that is synonymous with home and our great country.
These items will surely be a hit!!
Thanks again to these groups for their generous donations.
Keep 'em coming!!
How can you help our nonprofit send care packages to some of the most remote of the roughly 150,000 U.S. military troops serving overseas in 2024?
