With the passing of Armed Forces Day and with Memorial weekend approaching, let's not forget the many. many men and women who have served or are currently serving in our armed forces. Without their sacrifices, we would not be able to have the freedoms that we, so often, take for granted and enjoy. To all of you wonderful soldiers out there, we salute you!!
I also want to take the time to thank the Pease family of Haddonfield, NJ for their generous donation of a PS2 gaming system. One lucky platoon will be so surprised when they receive this wonderful gift. When the soldiers get down time, it is a wonderful way for them to forget the rigors of war and to get their minds off of missing home.
Another thanks goes to Faith Ellis for her donation of bags for our treats to the soldiers at DFW airport. These treats help the soldiers as they return to their tour and help them to know that they are appreciated.
Thanks to Starbucks at the Kroger grocery store for your large donation of coffee. It is one of the most requested items and definitely a hit! Keep it coming!!
We continue to receive heartwarming letters and emails from the soldiers for the cookies we have sent but we still have cases upon cases waiting to be devoured by other troops. We need your help in sending out these cookies. For just $30, you can help sponsor a large package containing 32-35 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to be sent to one of our platoons. Just imagine working in the desert, after a long, hot day with all your military gear on and coming back to camp and opening up a box of Girl Scout cookies. What could be more American and remind you of home than Girl Scout cookies and Starbucks coffee!!
How can you help our nonprofit send care packages to some of the most remote of the roughly 150,000 U.S. military troops serving overseas in 2024?
