How can you help our nonprofit send care packages to some of the most remote of the roughly 150,000 U.S. military troops serving overseas in 2024?

1) Donate Financially - Our greatest need is cash for our mailing costs. With no paid staff, we strive to maximize the use of donations. We are a 501(c)(3) charity, so your gifts are tax deductible. We accept checks to Airborne Angel Cadets of Texas, P.O. Box 116691, Carrollton, TX 75011. You can donate via credit card through our Click and Pledge account. Or you can Venmo us at NancyCarter@AirborneAngels.

2) Donate Goods - Our all-volunteer charity is based in the Dallas area, but receives product donations from across the USA for care packages for our Soldiers and Troops overseas. We kindly request that you contact us at support@airborneangelcadets.com before sending any care package goods.

How can you help send care packages to the troops?

As we continue to send care packages to the estimated 60,000 U.S. troops currently in Afghanistan, below are a few ideas for businesses and organizations that are considering ways to support our American men and women serving in the military.

1) GOODS DONATION / COLLECTION DRIVE
We can always use care package goods (from collection drives, surplus, closeouts, etc.). Shelf-stable microwavable meals, snacks, powdered drink mixes, razors, body wash, toiletries, bedding, pillow cases, bed toppers, coffee, etc. A full list can be seen on our 'What is Requested' web page.

2) FINANCIAL / CASH DONATIONS
Shipping costs are by far our greatest expense and tax-deductible cash donations enable us to continue shipping care packages to soldiers, airmen, sailors and Marines.

3) EMPLOYER MATCHING DONATIONS
Include the Airborne Angel Cadets of Texas in a matching donation program.

4) CASUAL FRIDAY
Set up a 'Casual Friday' or 'Blue Jean Friday' program where donations support care packages for soldiers.

5) PERCENTAGE OF SALES / CASH REGISTER DONATION PROGRAM
For companies, donate a portion of sales to support the troops, or set up a program where a retail customer can choose to donate $1 for our troops.

5) HOST EVENT TO BENEFIT THE TROOPS
Host an event (poker, fun run, golf, bowling, dance, movie watching, etc.) that supports military care packages.

6) SEND CARDS AND LETTERS
The troops love to read messages of thanks and support from Americans of all ages. Even drawings from kids are welcome.

7) DESIGNATE US AS YOUR BENEFICIARY ON YOUR KROGER PLUS CARD
Kroger will donate a portion of your purchases to a single charity. This program has been a big help to us, and it adds nothing to your grocery costs. To designate us as your charity, please 'link' your Kroger Plus card to our nonprofit at the Kroger Community Rewards website.

8) DONATE SURPLUS EQUIPMENT - PACKING MATERIALS
We could use 2" or 3" packing tape, boxes, used Zebra LP 2844 thermal printers, 15" or larger used laptop computers to print our shipping labels, and ziplock bags for liquid goods.

9) DONATE PROMOTIONAL GOODS
Many corporate and trade show promotional or give-away items are great additions to our care packages. If your company has surplus, misprinted, or outdated notepads, pens, stress balls, mini-flashlights, snacks, toiletries, small bags, etc., those items are appreciated by the troops.

10) TEAM BONDING /  TEAM VOLUNTEERING EVENT
Design a program where employees or members work together on a care package project.

11) PUBLICITY
Spread the news of your care package efforts to your employees, members and customers via newsletters, website, twitter, facebook, social media, press releases, etc. Though we are in the Dallas - Fort Worth area, we welcome support from all across the USA.

Those are just some ideas on how businesses and organizations can help us ship care packages to our troops overseas. If you would like to discuss any projects, please feel free to contact us at support@airborneangelcadets.com.
