The many great volunteers working with the Airborne Angel Cadets of Texas were able to pack about 450 care package boxes at our packing party on October 4, 2014. The care packages will go to U.S. Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines in Afghanistan, Africa, Eastern Europe and the Mideast. We thank the hardworking Dallas - Fort Worth area volunteers from Citi, Wells Fargo, Dawson Logistics, JC Penney, Expendables Motorcycle Club and everyone else that made this one of our smoothest packing parties ever.
Postage costs for this one packing party were about $7,400, so we greatly appreciate all who have contributed financial donations in support of our military members serving overseas. The care packages included shelf-stable microwavable meals, powdered drink mixes (Zipfizz, etc.), Kimberly Clark wipes, energy bars, candy, deodorant, toothpaste, body wash, shampoo, eye drops, socks, nuts, clothing and assorted other snacks, foods, toiletries and miscellaneous items.
Our next big packing party will be in November, with the care packages arriving in time for Christmas. We welcome anyone who can assist with financial or product donations, or volunteer with us in the DFW area.
