The Airborne Angels Cadets of Texas hosted two packing parties to pack and send Christmas care packages to the U.S. Military troops overseas. With the help of volunteers from State Farm, J. C. Penney, Citigroup, Wells Fargo Bank, Highland Park High school, Hockaday High school, National Charity League, Prestonwood Young Men's Service League, Silver Star Mercantile, Kroger, Market Street and countless other organizations, who collected goods, stuffed stockings and held bake sales, we packed and mailed 591 boxes to the troops. The boxes went to 18 POC's (points of contact) and will be enjoyed by thousands of U.S. Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines.
To some, 591 boxes may not sound like much so here is the breakdown for a better understanding.
Box type sent:
160 larger brown boxes containing stockings, Xmas trees, decorations and larger items
431 large, white flat rate boxes averaging 13 lbs each containing toiletries, snacks, etc.
Total weight of goods sent: 8573 lbs.
Total cost of shipping: $10,700
The funding for postage is our greatest need, so if you're looking to spread some Christmas cheer to our troops, please think about making a donation to The Airborne Angel Cadets of Texas to sponsor a box or two.
How can you help our nonprofit send care packages to some of the most remote of the roughly 150,000 U.S. military troops serving overseas in 2024?
