Here are a couple of pictures and a message from a remote base in Africa to the Airborne Angel Cadets of Texas. As you can see, the troops stationed at these remote bases really rely on the care packages we send to them. They are excited to receive the basic items such as toiletries, food and snacks. We have a shipment of care packages headed their way, so that should help them through the winter months.
"Basic Necessities from food to razors and toiletries would be greatly appreciated. We are unable to bring in large amounts of military supplies and most of what we need is procured through the localeconomy. Not only is it a strain on the US personnel to adjust to local food grades and pathogens, but it is also a strain on the local economy in the area when we compete with the indigenous people. Any support is greatly appreciated. The first (photo) is a spot that we shop at in the market we don't get MRE's or anything like that, the bottom is a photo we took shortly after getting here."
