The Airborne Angel Cadets of Texas along with some great volunteers from Authentix, Lowes, Pepsico - Frito Lay, Ridgemont Commercial Construction, Squadron, Kroger, Highland Park's HP4Troops club and Delta Air Lines packed over 450 care packages on Saturday, August 6. In addition, we had some of our regular volunteers from Citibank, JCPenney, Wells Fargo Bank, Verizon as well as other hard working volunteers. The boxes, totaling $7500 in postage costs, are on their way to U.S. Military troops stationed overseas. The care packages were packed with toiletries, snacks, microwavable meals, notes from supporters, plus items received from Northern Tool, Texas Pete, Stanley Black & Decker (DeWalt) and Big Game Sports. Also, included were some Hawaiian shirts, grass-skirts and other items to go along with the Hawaiian luau theme. Stay tuned for pictures of the troops decked out in the shirts and skirts!
