Here are a few emails from a few of the units that received the care packages we sent last month. The boxes contained Halloween decorations along with the regular food, snack and toiletries we pack and send.
Hello Nancy!
Our folks are SO grateful! Please send a heartfelt thank you to your entire team for your support. We have received three of the larger brown boxes so far. What a hit! We have quite a few newcomers about to deploy to our location. The box with hygiene products and blankets will allow us to make welcome baskets for them! Our folks arrive here with very little, so even starter items like soap, toothpaste, deodorant, and shampoo go a long way! My Sgt and I are planning to decorate with the Halloween decorations this weekend, which is so fun. Holidays and other festivities are easy to forget while we're out here so we never would have thought to ask for decorations, but they're super fun! We got the boxes this morning and will go through them over the weekend. I'll try to sneak some pictures of folks enjoying the items and send them your way!
Thank you for letting us know the total number of boxes to expect. Mail tends to be unpredictable, so knowing how much to watch out for helps a lot!
The genuine appreciation for the support is palpable. Our folks work long hours doing really impactful work. You'd be surprised how far something as simple as a new pair of socks goes toward putting a smile on their faces!
I hope you and your family (both Airborne Angel and otherwise) are doing well. Thank you for everything!
Very Respectfully,
Lt Liberty L.

Nancy,
I just received 3 of the large boxes, and our unit is excited and currently decorating our company area with the Halloween decorations sent. If I can take some pictures without violating operational security I will get some to send to you. Thank you and all the volunteers who donated and put these care packages together.
God bless Texas and the Texans who make it such an amazing state!
v/r,
Andrew S.

Nancy,
I received the last of our boxes with our latest mail delivery. The boxes have been very happily received and shared across our formations.
On a happy, cute note. We have a bunch of "wild" dogs that have been hanging around. One just had a litter of puppies about a month ago. Mom and her pups enjoyed the treats and toys, and I'll be sending the rest to our out station that has the K9 teams as well.
We can not thank you and all the great volunteers who took the time to fill and send the packages with amazing dad jokes and notes inside. As a token of our gratitude, I have flown a US and Texas flag onboard one of my aircraft and will be mailing it to your PO Box once we return back home. I will also be replying to those who wrote letters via the envelopes and paper supplied.
Once again, thank you.
Andrew S.
